VetClaimGuide is a document preparation tool. We do not file claims on your behalf, provide legal advice, or represent veterans before the VA. Not affiliated with the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Defense.

Not legal advice, and not representation

The information on VetClaimGuide, including every calculator, letter tool, guide, and article, is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not legal advice, and reading this site or purchasing the organizer does not create an attorney-client relationship or make us your representative. We are not VA-accredited representatives, claims agents, or attorneys, and we never file claims, submit evidence, communicate with VA, or appear in any proceeding on a veteran's behalf.

If you want help with your claim

Federal law regulates who may assist veterans with VA claims. If you want someone to represent you, use a VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization representative, a VA-accredited claims agent, or a VA-accredited attorney. You can verify anyone's accreditation through VA's Office of General Counsel accreditation search on VA.gov, and accredited VSO representatives generally assist veterans at no charge. Nothing on this site is a substitute for that help.

No promises about ratings, approvals, or timelines

VetClaimGuide does not promise, predict, or estimate that any claim will be granted, that any condition will be service connected, that you will receive any particular rating percentage or effective date, or that a decision will arrive by any date. Every one of those outcomes is decided by VA based on the evidence in your file. Be cautious of anyone, anywhere, who guarantees a VA rating.

Calculator results are educational estimates

Our combined rating and back pay calculators apply VA's published tables and compensation rates to the numbers you enter. Their output is an educational estimate based on your inputs, not a prediction of your case, a benefits determination, or a statement of what VA owes you. Rates change over time, and only VA's own decision documents state your actual rating and payment.

Not medical advice

Content describing conditions, symptoms, or medical evidence explains how the claims process treats documentation. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Talk to your doctor or your VA health care team about your health, and describe your conditions to VA truthfully and completely, always. If you are a veteran in crisis or worried about one, the Veterans Crisis Line is available around the clock: dial 988, then press 1.

Rules and rates change

Title 38 regulations, VA forms, the M21-1 manual, and compensation rates are all revised over time. Content on this site may not reflect the most recent change. Before you rely on anything here, confirm the current rule on VA.gov or with an accredited representative. If this site and VA ever disagree, VA is correct.

We are an independent publisher

VetClaimGuide is an independent business. We are not a law firm, a claims agency, or a government office, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorized to act on behalf of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, or any veterans service organization. Names of agencies, forms, and programs are used only to help you identify the correct authority and materials.
